My name is Shawna Kay Anderson, I was born in Spokane, Washington, I’m a mother of two living in the Pacific Northwest. I have a variety of hobbies I am passionate about such as performing stand-up comedy, writing and performing hip-hop, and volunteering with Hospice, to name a few! I have been passionate about writing since I was young. I’ve been passionate about making people laugh since before I was a twinkle in the Grinch’s eye.
I took a break from being a half assed stand-up comedian to work on becoming a full assed indie author.
I just released my first book, “How to Backwash: A Collection of Haiku” last month in November 2024. It’s a collection of 111 haiku, 111 glimpses into my life as a starving artist and mother living in North Idaho with my partner, working two part time jobs, slinging energy drinks and chewing tobacco by day, slinging burgers, fries, and beer by night.
What type of person would enjoy this book, "How to Backwash: A Collection of Haiku", you ask? Great question!
My book is perfect for any mature adult who enjoys comedy. I wrote it as a stand-up comedian. Mothers, dads, single women, married women, comedy lovers, grandmas, crazy aunts, college students, professional podcasters, creepy uncles, people who struggle with mental illness, drug addiction, anyone who’s ever dealt with family drama. It’s relatable (a verified reviewer said so, so you know it’s true!) and unique. That was the exact vibe I was going for, so, I was ultra stoked to see that written out!
I am awaiting my first shipment, and then the books will be sent out! I appreciate everyone’s patience with me as I fumble through and down this brand-new road of being a published indie author. I have not the slightest idea of what I am doing. (:
But, I'm doing it.
Take care, Dear Friendlies!
Love,
SKA
